I've spent more hours than I'd like to admit sitting in cafes and restaurants — not because I love coffee or food (though I do), but because I've always been quietly fascinated by the same question:

Why did that person never come back?

This is what hurts me. Not the empty seat — but the fact that nobody knows why.

I started Datary because I couldn't accept that this is just "how it works." That owners — people who pour years of their lives, their savings, their families' patience into a single room with a few tables — should be left guessing why their dream is fading.
